Terms & Conditions
- Introduction
1.1 The Company: Dave Long Coach Travel (www.davelongcoachtravel.ie) is a privately owned company that trades as ‘West Cork Transfers’ and ‘WCC Group’. Our principal address is Bus Stop, Market Street, Skibbereen, Co. Cork.
1.2 Definitions: In the following terms and conditions (T&Cs), the terms ‘the website’, ‘this website’ and ‘our website’ refer to westcorktransfers.ie; ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to West Cork Transfers; ‘passenger’ refers to any person or group we have agreed to carry in our vehicles; ‘client’ refers to the organisation, individual or agent who contracts our services; ‘you’ or ‘your’ refer to our passengers, clients and website users; ‘luggage’ refers to the personal property of any passenger accompanying them on board our vehicles.
1.3 The Agreement: Please read the T&Cs carefully, as they constitute a binding legal agreement between you and us regarding your use of our transfer services and website [westcorktransfers.ie]. These T&Cs apply to all parties at all times. By using our website or purchasing/reserving any of our services, you accept these T&Cs. You are bound by our T&Cs regardless of whether you book a taxi, cab, hackney or minibus via our website or any other means. By booking with us, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts and are at least 18 years old. These T&Cs apply whether a contract has been made in writing or verbally. If you do not agree with our T&Cs, you must not use our website or services.
- Pricing Policy
2.1 Calculation: The price of the transfer service relates to the cost of hiring a vehicle and driver or reserving a seat in a vehicle. It is calculated based on various factors, including distance, route, time of travel, number of passengers, type of vehicle, toll charges and other relevant information provided by the client during booking. While we typically take the most direct route, the actual route taken is at the discretion of West Cork Transfers and our drivers.
2.2 Agreement: By making a booking, you agree to the price quoted. The price applies only to the agreed-upon journey and details provided during booking. Any changes to the travel plan, such as detours or additional pick-ups and set-downs, will incur extra charges. Extra charges will also apply if additional luggage is not indicated during booking and requires a larger-sized vehicle. All additional charges are the responsibility of the client/passenger unless otherwise specified.
2.3 Pricing Variations: Prices are subject to change without notice, especially during festive seasons (such as Christmas, New Years and Easter), bank holidays and other peak periods.
- Booking Policy
3.1 Agreement: A booking or reservation relates to the provision of specific requirements to West Cork Transfers. By making a booking, you agree to purchase a transfer service at the quoted price.
3.2 Your Responsibility: Bookings must be made at least 3 hours in advance of the pick-up time. All pick-up dates and times supplied to us must be in the Irish time zone. Clients are responsible for ensuring bookings are made in consideration of check-in times or departure times and following guidelines provided by their transport providers (e.g. your airline). We are not liable for costs incurred due to insufficient allowance of travel time or unforeseen circumstances.
3.3 Our Responsibility: If a booking made within the allocated time cannot be fulfilled due to vehicle or driver unavailability, we will cancel and refund the total amount.
3.4 Vehicles: While clients may specify the vehicle size at the time of booking, we reserve the right to provide a suitable vehicle without prejudice to the booking specifications.
3.5 Terms: We reserve the right to refuse, reject or terminate any booking or any request placed using, but not limited to, deceptive or fraudulent means.
- Payment Policy
4.1 Procedure: Clients must pay in full for our services through our website at the time of booking the transfer. Payment options include Stripe, Google Pay or Visa/MasterCard.
4.2 Your Responsibility: When making a payment, you must ensure that all details provided are accurate and that you are an authorised user of the payment method with sufficient funds to cover the cost. It’s your responsibility to promptly inform us of any changes to these details.
4.3 Authorisation and Refunds: By making a booking, you authorise us to bill your payment method and to provide personal or payment information to our trusted third-party payment processors. West Cork Transfers makes no representations about any third parties’ privacy practices. All purchases are final and non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of booking.
4.4 Tipping: Tips for drivers are discretionary and should be given directly to the driver.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
5.1 Cancellation Policy: Both the client and West Cork Transfers reserve the right to cancel bookings. Valid reasons may necessitate West Cork Transfers cancelling a booking or failing to complete the agreed transfer journey. If a booking made within the allocated time cannot be fulfilled by us due to vehicle or driver unavailability, we will cancel and refund the full amount.
5.2 Refund Policy: All bookings and purchases are final and non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of booking. Under certain circumstances, clients may be considered for a partial or full refund. Refunds are solely at the discretion of West Cork Transfers. West Cork Transfers shall not be liable to pay any compensation for consequential loss or any other form of compensation.
5.2.1 No-Shows: No refunds for passengers who fail to show up, for whatever reason, without notice. If we cannot establish contact with the client or they fail to inform us of a delay, the booking will be considered a no-show, and no refund will be issued. Passengers who opt for alternative transportation without waiting for their assigned driver will not be eligible for a refund.
5.2.2 Cancellation After Dispatch: Refunds are not applicable for cancellations made after the dispatch of our vehicles.
- Terms of Carriage

x) We reserve the right to immediately ban any passenger for serious breaches of our rules or terms and conditions, as determined by West Cork Transfers.
- Safety Policy
7.1 Safety Measures: All safety measures are implemented in accordance with the Road Traffic Act and industry regulations. Our drivers are qualified and competent and adhere to all regulations.
7.2 Driving Hours Regulation: The operating hours for our drivers are regulated by law. Neither the client nor any passenger shall cause any delay or interruption to the journey that could result in the driver breaching driving hour regulations.
7.3 Your Responsibility: Passengers should familiarise themselves with emergency exits and procedures. No standing or sharing of seats is permitted.
7.4 Disabled Passengers: Any special requirements for passengers with disabilities must be specified when booking. All liabilities related to the assistance and well-being of disabled passengers remain with the client.
- Carriage of Children
8.1 Accompanying Adults: We shall not be obliged to carry any child aged under 18 unless accompanied by an adult.
8.2 Seat Allocation: When travelling with children under your supervision, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are appropriately secured in a seat. Seat belts shall be worn at all times. Child seats may also be necessary but are subject to availability. Please inform us at the time of booking if a baby seat, child seat or booster is required.
- Luggage Policy
9.1 Luggage Allowance: Our standard luggage allowance assumes one suitcase (80 x 50 x 25cm; 15–20 kgs) and/or one piece of hand luggage (55 x 40 x 20cm; 8–10 kgs). Passengers intending to travel with multiple pieces of luggage or bulky items should notify West Cork Transfers at the point of booking. The passenger acknowledges that the driver has sole discretion regarding the carriage of their property. We reserve the right to refuse certain types of luggage, including excess luggage that may compromise vehicle safety while in motion. In such cases, refunds will not be issued.
9.2 Prohibited Items: West Cork Transfers does not permit the carriage of ‘Dangerous Goods’ as defined by relevant regulations and legislation. This includes items considered hazardous, dangerous, flammable, explosive, noxious or illegal.
9.3 Storage: Passengers must securely store all luggage, packages, bags, etc., as directed by the driver.
9.4 Insurance: West Cork Transfers is not liable for any loss or damage to personal items or luggage carried within our vehicles. Passengers are responsible for minimising the risk of loss and any damage caused by their luggage to persons or property. We recommend that passengers obtain appropriate insurance for their luggage.
- Lost Items Policy
10.1 Your Responsibility: Passengers are responsible for removing all waste, personal items and luggage from the vehicle. If passengers find property belonging to others inside our vehicles, they must hand it over to the driver once it is safe to do so.
10.2 Handling of Lost Items: If West Cork Transfers is informed of any belongings left behind or lost inside our vehicles, we will exercise reasonable care if the item is located.
10.3 Unclaimed Items: Unclaimed items will be held for 14 days following the taxi transfer. After this period, we reserve the right to dispose of unclaimed items as deemed appropriate. This may include opening and examining items, and disposing of those considered dangerous, perishable or unsuitable for storage.
- Delays Policy
11.1 Liability Limitation: West Cork Transfers shall not be held liable for any instances of passengers missing their flights, trains, buses or ferries, nor for any delay or failure of our services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of nature or forces beyond our reasonable control. Such instances include, but are not limited to, vehicle breakdowns, equipment failures, internet failures, acts of God, force majeure, accidents, traffic congestion, strikes, labour disputes, riots, insurrections, civil disturbances, shortages of labour, fires, adverse weather conditions, governmental actions, orders of domestic or foreign courts or tribunals, non-performance of third parties, or loss of or fluctuations in electricity or other utility supplies. We shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages, loss or inconvenience suffered by our passengers and clients, regardless of how arising. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of profit, revenue, reputation, goodwill, other intangibles or business, even if the possibility of such loss or damage was foreseeable by us or brought to our attention.
11.2 Your Responsibility: If your flight, ferry, train or bus experiences significant delays, you must inform us as soon as possible. In case of unusually long delays due to immigration procedures, baggage reclaim, customs clearance or any other reason, you must promptly contact us with updates. Failure to do so may result in the release of your assigned driver and vehicle. Your contact telephone number must be reachable in case of delays. In the event that we cannot establish contact with the client or they fail to inform us of a delay, the booking will be considered a no-show, and no refund will be issued.
11.3 Travel Insurance: We strongly advise all passengers to travel with the necessary travel insurance to mitigate any unforeseen circumstances during their journey.
12: Damages
12.1 Liability: The passenger is liable for any damage they cause to the vehicle during the service provided by West Cork Transfers. In addition to the cost of repairs, the passenger is responsible for compensating West Cork Transfers for any lost earnings resulting from the vehicle being withdrawn from service due to the damage caused.
- Sub-contracts
13.1 Vehicles and Drivers: West Cork Transfers reserves the right to allocate any vehicle suitable for the client’s requirements. Where a vehicle cannot be supplied from our own fleet, we reserve the right to supply a similar or higher-spec vehicle without prior notice from another suitable company. Equally, where a driver cannot be supplied from our own team of drivers, we reserve the right to engage the services of an independent driver or a driver from another suitable company without prior notice. The same terms and conditions will apply to the replacement vehicle or driver as stated in the original booking.
